Vitamin D, affectionately known as the sunshine vitamin, is full of benefits and is an integral part of a healthy lifestyle. While you can get Vitamin D from sun exposure in the UK it isn’t always possible! In fact, in the UK 1 in 6 adults are deficient, and over 50% of those from an Asian background have alarmingly low levels of vitamin D.
Getting vitamin D from sun exposure isn’t always recommended either - many leading dermatologists advise against it because of the risk of developing skin cancer. That means the best way to get your vitamin D is from food. There are many natural sources of vitamin D, fatty fish like salmon and tuna have an abundance. Vitamin D can also be found in egg yolks and maitake mushrooms. However, it can be difficult to get any substantial amount of vitamin D through diet alone, especially if you are vegan and consume non-fortified foods so our high strength, vegan-friendly vitamin D tablet is the perfect way to support your lifestyle.
Vitamin K2 (MK-7)
As dictated by the EU, the approved claim for vitamin K is that it contributes to normal blood clotting and to the maintenance of normal bones. Beyond that, however, we included vitamin K2 in our vitamin D supplement to help keep your calcium levels in balance. Why is that important? Well, calcium plays a vital role in keeping our immune system in balance and low levels are associated with a higher susceptibility to severe illness.
Historically, many people have viewed our systems in isolation but we’ve formulated this from a place of understanding that our various systems are integrated and interact with each other. In fact, bone health has a complex and synergistic relationship with the immune system. This is why we included both D3 and K2 - vitamin D helps absorb calcium, while vitamin K2 helps absorb calcium into the bone mass by activating a protein called osteocalcin.
Vitamin K2 (MK-7) also helps alleviate arterial calcification by binding to excess calcium, thereby reducing plaque in arteries.

While we’re best known for our flagship period patches, menstruation is only part of a long list of taboo topics and issues which have historically been discarded as ‘girl problems.’ Our products aim to encourage dialogue, while each purchase helps us to invest in bridging the associated gender gap in medical research.
